Site updates 10-22

I’ve been slacking behind on the organization of the site lately.  Today, I have updated all the pages to more accurately reflect articles available now.

In terms of future projects, I have cut my losses on a few, as time commitment is becoming an issue.

Unlock Run: Subspace Emissary – We’re not quite done as there are 3 characters that have not been unlocked.  I plan to edit and upload these when time permits.

Back to the Sewers – Although it’s taking longer than I anticipated, I like the direction it’s going.  This series will continue this week, concluding in November.

Amiibo Test – Amiibo test is still underway, though going much slower than I had hoped.  Will work hard to bring this to you before Smash Brothers WiiU launches November 21st.

Hyrule Warriors Impressions – I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile but other projects have interrupted.  Since Warriors games are a significant part of this site, it feels natural to talk about it.

Top Warriors – inspired by Josh Scorcher’s recent list, I’m revamping my original idea for this, and will be working on this over the holiday this year.

I have a few other ideas stewing as well, but will require a larger time investment.  Let me know if any of these interests you, and I’ll be sure to try and get them up.

Smashing with Q – I still have Brawl Online footage that hasn’t been used yet, but any dialog would have to be editted in post.  It’s also possible we will do some matches when Smash for WiiU launches.

Let’s Play Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper – I received a copy of this as a gift, so I intended to do a Let’s Play of it since that will allow me to talk about the various characters without doing a full Musou Missives episode.  This will likely require a large amount of time, so I may have to put this on hold unless there is a significant amount of interest for it.

Let’s Play TMNT (2007) –  Found a copy of this when we were in the heat of doing Let’s Plays.  Still interested in playing it, but may require some effort to complete. far less effort though than the Warriors Orochi 3 playthrough, as this game is significantly shorter.

Things tend to backup the closer we get to the holiday season, but I will attempt to get as much content as I can through the end of the year.

Smash Brothers Brawl Warm-up and site update!

I thought I would make an update to announce that some of the content on the site will be changing.  Due to a number of technical difficulties, I won’t be able to get the footage I wanted for some of my on-going projects.  The top Warriors series will have to be text only at this point (which will make it go quicker honestly).  Also, Musou Missives will be put on hold for now as well.

That being said, we have made a huge change in our media center.  So, to test some of it out, we made the video below.  If all goes well, expect more in the future.

Christmas Hiatus

Due to a combination of the heavy workload from Datevember, and an unusually busy holiday season coming up, Punch, Kick, All in the Mind will be taking a few weeks off for the holiday season.

I may still be posting some things when I have the time available to do so, but I can’t guarantee the same amount of content as I have had in the past.

Don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of new content coming in January 2014.  In the meantime, have a safe and happy holiday, and Merry Christmas!

Theme month: Datevember

Since our winner of the Double Musou Poll is none other than Masamune Date, get ready for another theme month.  It’s Datevember!  This month Musou Missives will be showcasing the Japanese daimiyo, as well as being featured in a special Let’s Play of Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes.

Get ready for a whole month of Date here on Punch, Kick, All in the Mind!

Musou Missives: A Primer, plus Cake Day!

As a celebration for this webzone’s anniversary, above I have posted a primer for the Musou Missives series.  This is to explain the terminology I use in my articles and will use in future videos.

I have trouble believing it’s been a year, in many ways it feels like it’s been much longer.  I attribute the feeling to it being a busy year.  I didn’t think the site would have made the jump to video yet, even if it has some bugs to work out still.  Not to mention the rocky debut of the next generation systems, which are due out soon.

What will another year bring?  I’m not sure, but I look forward to sharing it with everyone here at Punch, Kick, It’s All in the Mind!

If you have any feelings or ideas to share, let me know in the comments below.

I do not own Warriors Orochi, or any other TecmoKoei product included in this post.  The footage above is intended for educational purposes.

Let’s Play Injustice: Gods Among Us Rematch and Site Update

Above is our rematch video of Injustice:Gods Among Us.  I thought I would use the opportunity to update status of the site as well.

First the blog’s anniversary is coming up on the 28th, so I thought I would do something special on that day, but it may take some time to get done.  I’ll try to finish it up before then.

I planned on doing an impressions and comparison video for the upcoming Ninja Turtles game, but with the anniversary and Musou Missives coming up, I’m going to be pretty tied up.  We’re thinking of just doing a blind Let’s Play on that so we can give our impressions more genuinely.

The first installment is coming.  I have the top 10 picked out, but haven’t fully decided on the order.  I also hope to do it in video format now, which will take some time.

In the meantime, I will be posting a Dynasty Warriors article next week to fill some time.  Hope you enjoy.  If you have any suggestions on the video production, blog status, or anything else, be sure to let me know.
